Fire up the coffee pots lets all get rolling. Have a good Monday all. Whenever I order coffee out and they ask if I want sweetener in it I always say no thanks I'm sweet enough. My wife hates it but oh well.

Good morning guys, we made it past Monday.

For our must be Monday story, the AC crapped out at the kid's house yesterday while we were babysitting. Outside unit was running, inside unit was running (non stop), temps kept rising. No condensation dripping out the drain pipe and both coolant lines the same temperature. I lucked out and got them a service call for today after lunch. Unit is only 3 years old so hoping the problem is under warranty.

I installed my emergency hurricane window AC in their bedroom to get them through the night. If the AC is going to be down for a few days I’ll move them into the barn apartments over here.

I got one of those portable ones. The largest 110v 15A I could find 22,000 I believe? That way, it’s just slide open a window install, insert, and boom… AC. We use it for power outages (generator), etc.

Maybe keep a close eye on your electricity usage, when my unit was on it's deathbed in July 2020 and had been band-aided with a fresh capacitor and a hard start kit, my monthly bill was over 7 bills.

Ok, back from the vet for a glucose check on my diabetic doggie. Fasting glucose of 175 for him btw, I’m pretty happy for that.

Back to window units, I’m surprised you don’t have one. I have never pulled the trigger on a whole house generator so I have the window unit and a portable generator for emergency storm duty.

It’s a 110v unit that’s sized for the master bedroom. I could have gone a little bigger but stayed on the safe side so I can keep a fridge and freezer running on the generator too. It’s been worth it for hurricane survival.

I also wired a plug in for my heater (gas home heat) for winter storms. That’s come in handy a couple of times too when we lost power in the cold for no apparent reason.

Hadn't noticed that yet, but the inside of the unit in the attic is completely rusted out. It's on borrowed time, but still cools well. Gonna eventually upgrade to a heat pump unit so the oil furnace is the back-up heat.

We’re doing the same thing, just different A/C.

I just liked the options presented by only needing to vent the heat via a duct. I can choose the room and window depending on needs. The one I chose is as large as I could get, drainless (evaporates humidity in exhaust) and automagic (temperature setting) with oscillation, fan settings. Came with remote, even better…

Just a reminder, check your local electric company for deals and rebates for AC and other equipment
