On my truck, I've got magnetic drain plugs in diffs and txfer case, but I've also got those mag filters on all the filters and magnets on the bottom of the trans oil pan and the back of the rear differential. If you keep the metal bits from floating around in the oil, they can't do any damage. I've opened several of my used oil filters, and they have all had a collection of itty-bitty metal shavings that may or may not have made it through the filter media had the magnet not been there to capture them. I've also put them on my tractor's oil and hydraulic filters.

So, gonna be using a different polyurethane on the signing board than I did on the bowls. Here is the result, on the back, of a test I did just to make sure the sharpie won't bleed.

Also to see how amber it will make the wood. I have been doing stuff for a lot of years but I still test a lot.

When you put anything on wood, it's gonna bleed a bit. Harder the wood, less the bleed. Curly Maple is medium hardness and if you zoom, you see a bit of bleed. Acceptable for me.

    Not very much unfortunately... :pout:

I believe that mantle clock was made by Seth Thomas
It is a striking clock as indicated by the two "winding arbors" in the face
The 3ed, smalller winding arbor at the top center of the face is for speed regulation

It originally had a double ended key for the purpose.

When you’re out and the TPMS light comes on, you pull over to check tire pressures, and you find out your tire gauge is not in the truck. Time to order another spare.
