Worked at a oil and gas weld shop where they made pressure vessels (think big propane tank but higher pressure). They had 2 lathes with 30' beds and set 48" diameter pipe on them to mill a chamfer on each end so the heads could be welded on. Those machinist would run them at 1k rpm and they would rotate as smooth as silk.

Yes, it was mostly paint. I did have to drill holes for the door handles, because we went from knobs to pulls.

They're weld coupons so nothing very critical about them. Welders need certified or prove that this weld is acceptable. Something was missed during outage so now it's prove it time. Anyone at desk can figure this for me real quick? I'd have to unlock my tool box and break out my Oscar has a hairy old apple calculator

Yeah, at break I logged on to my computer and figured out I wrote that angle wrong. I believe this is what I needed. Just a scribe line to get me close.

I bought this sander 20ish years ago, it’s always sounded like it was going to fly apart and I haven’t used the disc in many years. Had Cole take it apart and we hacked it up and got it quiet now.

 

It’s backwards. No wonder you couldn’t figure it out.
