Yeah, they (family) say my cigarettes stink. I tell em get over it, stick your head out the window,
Not really. But I've quit a few times and they do smell pretty foul

 

She's probably a better driver than half the morons I encounter on the roads!

 

I've smoked a few cigarettes (back when I drank, didn't inhale ) but never got addicted to them and can't stand the smell of them, both my boss and coworker smoke out here in the shop. I walk away from them sometimes if I can smell it.

 

It doesn't bother me to be around people drinking. The wife and her friends party on the weekends and there's generally beers in the fridge. I know and work with several guys who'll drink a few 1-3 beers daily. More power to them, I see no problem with that.
Then I've met a couple of guys who if you don't drink they don't trust you Have actually heard that from a couple different people.

 

My stepdad alcoholic, had me drinking before the age of ten

I love this thread, often educational, occasionally therapeutic.

I forsee a point in my life where I stop drinking completely because I also have a tough time "just catching a buzz", I always want to crank it up a notch. Especially w the brown sauce.

Former smoker as well, for 10 years from 20-30, my then girlfriend now wife said I wont marry a smoker. Gave that up and gained about 50 lbs in 3-4 years

 

19..getting old am I. The court system and local police helped with that decision.

 

And here I am over here having never smoked or gotten drunk once...

You don't hear of many people at all who haven't drank or smoked, I applaud you

 

Sounds like you're the smart one.

People never believe me when I say I never smoked pot..just never interested me really, nothing wrong with it per se. I've always believed in legalization regardless of my decision to partake.

 

I like sharing my struggles, it helps people realize they aren't alone in theirs

 

The police missed their chance to catch me doing stupid stuff more than once.......thank goodness

 

I've always figured that maybe someone will know they can reach out to me if they know..had a friend I hadn't talked to in a while hit me up to go to some meetings this year

 

I've never smoked it either although I've been around it and smell it quite often on people that come in the store.

 

It took me a long time to quit drinking, over several years. It wasn't an overnight thing. My mom and wife tried to help me for many years, I didn't want anybody's help. I had to do it on my time and WANT to do it, unfortunately.

 

I’m right there with you, it’s still a bit weird sometimes how baffled people are when I tell them that. I just never had an interest in any of it.

This too, people are amazed when I tell them I’ve never smoked pot. I guess the hippy hair and beard throw them off
