Here's the 1988 Toyota I had, it was all original when I got it, the engine and trans got tired at 295K so I did some surgery with a Ram 2500 I had and stuffed the V8, trans, transfer case, and axles in/under the Toyota.

Never had a 4 cylinder Toyota truck; my first Yota was a 6 cylinder luckily. However my last truck was a 2.2 4 cylinder S10 with a 5-speed. Somebody slapped 3.42 gears and a lunchbox locker in it for fuel mileage. It was about as fast as a snail with a hard on. 0-60 in.... no. It struggled going up this mountain so I told myself no more 4 cylinder trucks. I miss that little bucket-o-rust though. I painted it, threw on some tint, good looking little truck.

Little bit of this and that
    RE: Poll

Have yet to own a 4 cylinder Yota pick up but I have driven a few. After driving a few trucks with the 22R/ 22RE and owning a 4 cyl Chevy LUV with all 80hp of fury it had I've decided I like moar power even at the cost of milage. And honestly the 4.0 is ok but I miss the power of my previous V8 Toyotas.

No hitch on my Ford although she is pretty snappy for an old girl.

All the way down here too. Not much for snow but just light flakes that aren't sticking.

My original Ford heater hoses made it 55 years without a failure, nobody ever changed them because you need to take the passenger fender off to do it...

About those 22R engines; thinking back about another friend that owned a 1985 Xtra cab 4x4 and I'm fairly certain it was a 22RE like the other friend's 1986, they both drove their trucks very differently and after a couple of years that 1985 didn't like to wind up like the 1986. I wonder if it had to do with driving one like it was stolen and the other a little old lady going to church on Sunday. ??
