Shop Time w/T.W. Friends. Where is your wallet…..poll

Yeah that's understandable too. Our shop has to machine graphite bushing material for valve packing spacers and I don't like that stuff getting everywhere either. And if I'm working on a half to one thousandths tolerance and polishing it in with paper, I'll lay a rag over the ways or be sure to wipe all that abrasive off before dragging the carriage over it. I have a little oil can with way oil too
But I like to take the best care I can of the equipment.

 

If you Google the team name tomorrow it'll bring up a live score.. not as fun as watching it but it's kinda sorta in real time. That's how I keep up with the Hawkeyes when I'm at work

 

I messaged him at Christmas, he is OK, keeping busy spending time with his boys. .

 

It looks like I should be able to stream it with a trial of YouTube TV. If not, there will probably be highlights somewhere.

I got a text from my brother telling me our mom is making a third attempt to stay back at her house again after her heart attack ordeal. I will try and call her this AM and see if she answers.
My Tacoma sits in the garage so much that it needs to be driven just for the sake of it...mom's place is between 50-60 miles West in Lincoln Nebraska.

I’ll try to keep this short..

Years ago working for a contractor and got a small metal shaving in my eye. I stopped drilling (was hanging a tire rack) and called for my Lead. He could see it clearly. He got a match, fluffed the end and moistened it. He was able to dab the shaving out with it - no problem. We irrigated and that was that.

About 10 years later, I needed an MRI on my knee. One of the screening questions was, “Have you ever had metal in your eyes?” (MRIs and small bits of metal floating in your body = said metal being pulled out to the magnet.). I need to get orbital x-rays to show I didn’t have any metal in there.

I was working at a hospital at the time and had the habit of keeping a pen behind my ear. I went down for the x-rays during a break. Front and side of the top part of my head. I could hear a short “what…” then she asked, do you have a pen behind your ear? My eyes were clear but it looked like I had a triangle shaped implant in my temporal lobe…

Sometimes its not hard to embarrass me, but i remember one time going through south somewhere the cashier said "thanks hon"...wife was right there, i got a little embarrassed...just cuz i wasnt used to hearing that being from north. I thought for sure wife would slap me
