When I bought my truck it had been on the lot over a month, at a Chevy dealer....
I finally talked him down to 500 off (it was already like 2k under KBB for the time). Then when I said deal he tried to backpedal and add on $500 of dealer fees and I said, well then no deal, looked at my wife and said lets go, we stood up and turned and he's like 'uhhh forget about it, its a deal, we won't add anything'. Then I went to the servicewriter who tried to convince me I needed a warranty and I told him no like 8 times before he finally folded. Left with my 15' TRD Sport DCLB a happy man. I even got a couple of free oil changes, but I didn't trust their techs to put in what I wanted and I wanted to get everything back on the correct maintenance schedule so when it rolled 2k more miles I took it in for the oil change and had them look at a chip I noticed on the drive home. They said it's not due yet, and I said I don't care, change it. Then when it hit 90k, 5k later I put the good stuff in. 10k oil changes since and gear oil every 30k. Easier to keep track of due dates when its on the numbers.

I like how instead of doing it right, he again went the DIY route and just cut the top off the pintle.

Oddly enough, I am very good sharpening knives, but am not allowed to sharpen our kitchen knives.

Wife cut her hand after I sharpened our kitchen knives. Hence no more sharp kitchen knives.

With that said, I have my own knife that I keep tuned up for when I prepare dinner(which is every night).

Fast forward:. Started preparing dinner and noticed my knife was in dire need of sharpening. Figured I hit a fish hook or similar recently . Sharpened knife and moved on. It was unusually dull.

FF 2 months later I came home to find the wife dividing her banana tree roots...using my knife.

These trees grow fast and need divided 3 times a year.

I asked why she was using that knife? " She said it was the only one sharp enough to cut thru the dirt and roots".

    Mistery solved.

I just turned around and headed to the beer fridge.

There are some wars that make no sense fighting.

best I've done is I sharpened my walmart special knife with some Carbide inserts at work. Was sharp for a time or two, but got dull again fairly quickly.

All this boot talk is an odd coincidence, I just picked up new shoes today.
Keen Voyager, I have had a couple pair of these, the most comfortable shoes I have ever had.

The last several years before I retired I had pretty bad foot problems, part of it was injury and part 55+ hours a week on the concrete floors.

Arch support insoles from this company helped a tremendous amount. Expensive - yes, and absolutely worth it.

I worked with a maniac who was a master knife sharpener, both of his forearms were hairless from testing...

One incident -- branded for life.

10 years later: "Oh, you're the guy who fell off the toilet..."

i have an old Lansky set, once you get used to it its not a big deal. Buck has weird number for their angle i think.

Biggest mistake people do is too blunt of an angle. Once you set up a lansky you see what a 20° angle is and most knives sharpen right up

You never shake those kinds of things. You're better off rolling with it than struggling against it!

Just like when someone calls you "Dick", then correct them and say "my name is Richard". You are gonna be a dick for the rest of your life.
