    Brand new 36 inch pneumatic cylinder. Only been installed for a week before the operators did this to it. They somehow got it jammed out/ran boards through the machine when they're not supposed to, and stuck a board under the rod while extended. Then instead of turning the conveyor off and calling for assistance, they thought driving more boards in there would help.

    I seriously wonder how some of these guys wipe their ass unassisted.

    Nope, bent the barrel of the cylinder as well. We don't have any equipment to get that straight enough to not destroy the gland.

    For reference, when we got up there the working end of the rod was two feet higher than the barrel.

    I've never had good luck with straightening cylinders anyway, hydraulic or air.
