Mmmm, I haven't had pancakes in a long time...

Mrs Green doesn't care for them so I don't bother making them for myself.

 

I was doing so good!!

 

They had 6 different samples yesterday and another 6 today. They seldom tell you what they're testing for but in this instance, I think it had something to do with how much whole wheat (or at least something similar) they can get away with before it becomes too noticeable.

Someone that works in the same department (cereals? grains?) mentioned that there's supposed to be a testing panel for pork chops and bacon coming up.

 

Had did you get on the invite list?

The email goes out to everyone on campus. For this one they were only looking for 20-25 people but the lady that runs these recognizes me now since I think I've done 5 for her.

Other people get to be a regular at a bar, I'm a regular on a taste testing panel.

I'm helping someone with their research so I'm game to try just about anything.

 

For the steak testing I did a few months ago they were comparing different methods of preparation. It was a nation-wide study to compare beef in different parts of the country to see if there were regional differences and preferences.

I found it ironic that the "payment" (they can't give you money but they can buy you with food) for eating steak was a steak to take home.

Good morning friends!

Some of you know this and some of you don’t, my name is Shane and I’m an alcoholic.

I watched my dad drink for many years and I turned into him at 20 years old drinking every chance I got. I didn’t drink to drink, I drank to get drunk. If I had a 12 pack, a case, or a bottle, I thought I had to drink it all.......and I did.

My wife and I lost our first child to a miscarriage, I was drunk the night it happened. When my wife got pregnant with our son I told her if he grows up to be an alcoholic he wasn’t learning it from his dad like I did from mine.

Today is 11 years of sobriety for me. Not one beer, nothing. I don’t have a problem with people drinking, I have a problem with me drinking. I don’t blame anyone for my drinking, I put every drink in my mouth. I can’t drink or I’ll get drunk so I choose not to.

I'm not any better than anyone else and don't claim to be. I tell you this to let you know if you struggle with something, you can overcome it. I am living proof.
