I should be done with the gas hauling.

The range runs on an existing 60 gallon tank, today I hooked the furnace to it and the range to a full 40 pound tank. Both should be good until the big tanks arrive in January.

I always wrap Mrs Greens Christmas presents at the garage.

    1) big table to work
    2) she can't wander in
    3) No Cats to help... :annoyed:

    Still a challenge.

I built a dining room table for my wife. It covers Christmas, Valentine's day and her birthday... for the next few years. No wrapping. Just result.

Been a while... Life and especially work has been challenging and keeping me preoccupied.

Probably the hardest part of my career to date.. doesn't look like much.. but between the heat treated 15-5, ridiculous feature callouts (that I was able to have the customer's Engineers change/adjust for manufacturing), and constantly trying new programming/tooling strategies (with a lot of broken tools).. I have spent almost 3 weeks on this thing between programming, testing out toolpaths and tools, and finally running an aluminum first article. After we get back from the Holidays.. I'm hoping I can get bought off and run out the 2 pieces they need from the live material.

Nothing on this part is parallel, flat, or square-to each other. Bottom radius is based off a ~53" Radius. I had to design and make a custom fixture to locate off the 3 datums I established in this Op1. Model/print wall and floor Rads were .060" at 1.250" deep, when the other part family was .125" wall and floor Rads. All 3 surfaces (2x walls that are an acute angle to each other + a radiused floor) had to be picked out. This part shown is with the updated .125 Rads and still has the carrier obviously.

I seem to have caught the crud that's going around. The entire shop ended up going home sick yesterday. I don't get sick often but boy is this one a whopper. Hot/cold, coughing, headache. And just in time for Christmas lol. Hope you all have a merry holiday

    Seriously impressive. :101010:

Unfortunately the people in "the office" (non-Wrenchmen ;) ) will never have any idea how much work & time went into "that bracket" that you can hold in one hand.

Just dropping in to wish all my friends here a very Merry Christmas.
I'm just up to the same ol same ol.
Few weeks ago replaced ball joints and all steering components on my son's 2006 Duramax 1 Ton.
Yesterday was driver side HVAC Blend Door Motor on 2012 impala along with oil change almost 212k miles on that thing now.
Been very recently considering trading off the Jeep but between trade in offers and high interest rates going to pass for now.
    Happy Holidays ALL.
Now going to go share a picture of one of my cats, and say hi to whatevererville crew.:santa:

I appreciate that! It's really the office guys not taking the time to accurately quote or look over these jobs.. and just letting us find the issues and deal with them once they get onto the floor. Not to mention these part "issues/discrepancies" are coming from a very high tier and well known aerospace company. So when it comes time to get back some things... Now we're on hold for weeks, waiting for the process to finalize on their end, if at all. Having to gather and provide screenshots and info on why the features are non manufacturable or ask why they chose to design 1 set of parts different than the other, etc.

I have a 25 years old 1/2" electric drill still performing to its max and a set of brushless cordless drill/impact driver with charger, I mean talking about time saver and handy, I really like them too!

Nice work! Engineering threw you a hard pitch to hit.
I will say, wearing my engineer hat, we try hard to never draw something like that unless it is absolutely necessary.
I work for a German company. When something is engineered over there and we need to mod or source the part over here, the first thing we do is redraw to NA specs so it is not absurdly expensive just because the finish or hardness is misunderstood by american shops because it is a German Spec.
