Freaking Vermont…. Rt 91 detour for about 6 miles to a secondary route. Secondary route has ‘Utility Work Ahead’ with an indeterminable back up that’s growing exponentially.. :annoyed::angrygirl::annoyed::angrygirl::annoyed::angrygirl::annoyed::angrygirl::annoyed::angrygirl::annoyed::angrygirl::annoyed:

Same here. I gave it thought, but I do a lot of up close welding. I can see the weld puddle fine with no glasses, so I opted out of correcting my eyes.

I do more prep work than welding, so protective eyeware is more important than corrected eyes.

I've saved myself much eye trauma by having glasses on at all times. Not just for shop work, either.

I was initially talking about "prescription" safety sunglasses that are Ansi 87.1 compliant. Basically getting a pair of nice sunglasses free.

Good morning everyone, have a great Taco Tuesday!

I was near-sighted and astigmatism, 20/100 and 20/200, not sure how bad the astigmatism was but it was there. I had lasik done in 2002, brought me to 20/20 in both eyes. I did need readers almost immediately but they tell you about that in the prep conversations.

It has lasted until 2 years when I started noticing a vision change in my left eye. Turns out that’s a cataract forming and some retina issues. My right eye is still 20/20, left eye has improved with retina treatment and is back to 20/30 with just a small amount of astigmatism.

I do have glasses I wear now when driving long distance that corrects the left eye as I notice my eyes feel tired when doing that but I really don’t need them for day to day stuff. Readers are required for anything more than a casual glance at text.

I still highly recommend having it done if you are a candidate.

You should be like "sure, meet me here" and give him the address for the public library. When he says he's there tell him to go inside and learn to read, because you said you'd take 180, not 100. Waste my time, I can waste yours too.

I had a guy say he wanted to buy my 4 wheeler and he asked if I could bring it an 2 and a half hours out of the way for him. I said sure, if you're 100% serious and have cash in hand. He said yes sir!
I show up, he kicks the tires, looks it over and says 'it's a little rougher than I thought, I don't want it.' I was literally transparent with him with everything that was wrong with it, gave him tons of detailed photos and included new parts to replace the ones that needed it. Never again will I go out of my way to make a sale. Had to trailer it all the way back with my time wasted.

This makes me sick. Hauled some scrap steel off and these bolt bins got chucked by somebody.

I didn’t look in all of them, but this one had grade 8 fasteners in almost every bin.

The red case made it in the back of my truck, good o-rings. They won’t sell you stuff here, I’ve ask before. Usually there’s a guy sitting there watching. I put it in the truck before I weighed out to justify me not stealing it :anonymous:

I won’t deliver anything unless it’s from my house to my work and they Venmo me beforehand.

My uncle had a friend deliver a four wheeler and the guys wife said she had to go get the money. She left in the car. They’re standing around and the guy ask to ride the four wheeler. Got on it, never to be seen again. Dude calls the cops, house is vacant. Ugh.

This is why, I have a friend that when he gets way low balled he will sometimes ask if that includes a BJ from him or his wife.
He said it used to piss him off when he seen the stuff relisted for more than he had it on.

Definitely agree with this. I had a mild astigmatism in both eyes and due to how bad my vision was, it eliminated PRK as an option. I went with LASIK and it took my 20/400 down to 20/15 in both eyes for a time. It lasted about 6 years before the eyes started fading again. I'm probably close to 20/45 now and I'd love to get my eyes done again before I get out of the service. That's the thing about vision, it will always get worse as we age, especially if we needed glasses prior. I worry that I wont have enough material to remove if the docs' decide that I'm a viable candidate. With the cost of the service, if you're going out of pocket down from what it was 20 years ago and the skills of the optometrist, you'll be finished with the surgery in like 15 minutes. Hand's down the best decision I made (even though it was a military doc) and I would 100% do it again. Just have to remember to be religious when it comes to the steroid and wetting eye drops. That and two packages of frozen peas for after the surgery.

Reminds me of a similar story where the guy sent his potential buyer that was lowballing him to a comedy club so he can tell his jokes to people who want to laugh. It was open mic night.

Had the same thing happen with a gun, except the guy said he didn't want the detailed pics I offered, instead said he was "a man of his word" and would take it. I drove about 45 minutes to meet him. He pulls out a bore gauge to check the choke (full choke as advertised, 100% untouched ) hums and haws, then says something like "the bluing is a little more worn than I expected". Never again...

Ridin' shotgun to the Pacific coast today, waiting for the one piece of twine holding the bundle of tubing to let go and fire it into our windshield.

The few things I've sold on marketplace, the people seem to be expecting new for used prices. I sold a radial arm saw the first guy looked at it and didn't seem to know how to operate it. So I decided not to sell it to him. I think he was expecting a miter saw.
