Good morning friends! Tuesday is upon us, let's make the best of it. Have a wonderful day!!!

 

Had the local co-op electric guys stop by yesterday to change out the meter on the shop. They pulled up and the dog was out with the wife, guy didn't get out. I came over from mowing and joked around with them. But was serious when I told em if the dog is out by herself don't get out. She hasn't bitten anyone yet but she's very protective of the property and the wife.

 

Luckily I got outbid on the telehandler, I stopped and looked at it yesterday. They have 2 of them, I bid on the newer one but it is a lot rougher in person than the photos look.

The 2nd one is nicer but needs tires, I did some searching and these tires aren't cheap. The telehandler weighs almost 14K.

Years ago we had a black lab and he was mean. A guy I know worked for the power company when they still came around and read meters. He told me he sprayed the dog with 2 things of mace and he never let up

 

At least you warned him she hasn’t bitten anyone YET, and she’s very protective. I have customers that said the dog is friendly and doesn’t bit. We all have been chased out of the yard and a couple have been bitten.

 

I'm thinking bad aim with the pepper spray .

 

He said the dog had his head upside down in the grass chasing him while trying to get it out

 

Morning folks

All this propane talk and here I am still with an old oil boiler. Filled up the tank at $2.66 a gallon, which took 132 gallons to fill up. Been previously putting in 10-15 gallons of offroad in it a week when it started to get cool. Started to be a real PITA.

Reading the specs, it is actually a really good boiler. Burnham's all steel boiler, "high efficiency" at 84%. Needs some fine tuning though as it can burn through some oil. It definitely isn't combusting right, judging from the carbon in the flue.

Got bitten once delivering to a house on Lake James. As I unfolded the lift gate he snuck up behind me and got the back of the knee. I was wearing long pants thankfully and it just gave me an abrasion, no puncture wound. Owner said he's never done that before and he's up to date with all his shots.
Turned it in as a injury just in case.

Funny you mentioned the guys. My neighbor used to be the lineman for our co-op in our area, and as they say if momma ain't happy no one is.
Our lights never stayed out long.

 

Our church dropped out of the Methodist conference recently and is just now my area church. Still the same message and great folks.

 

To the Canadians in this thread

 

Get a good oil man out there to give it a complete tune up & clean.

If he doesn't take covers off, use brushes and a dedicated soot vac to clean and gauges to set the combustion he isn't a good oil man - you can't "eyeball" an oil burner and get it correct.

 

I have spoken to many of the service fellows over the years, they all came across as genuinely wanting to do their best for the customers.
