You know you had a filling lunch and were sitting entirely too still when your watch thinks you were sleeping.

Digging entirely too deep into tire rotation patterns tonight.

My truck from the owner's manual:

    upload_2025-5-23_20-48-16.png

    From a Toyota dealer website:

    upload_2025-5-23_20-52-38.png

My wife's Highlander from the owner's manual:

    upload_2025-5-23_20-53-25.png

The exact same vehicle, but the owner's manual from the UK:

It's quite irritating that you can't get a straight answer.

I've already decided that, pending any directional tires or different sizes, I'm just going to rearward cross all 4 vehicles.

Good morning shop crew, for those who have a 3 day weekend enjoy your extra time. For us who only get 2 days off, make the best of it. Have a great and blessed Saturday, and be safe.

I just go forward/backwards on the same side. With the way I run my vehicles, they're normally ready for tires by the second rotation anyways, so no reason to get into fancy cross-swaps.

It's also a condition of generally running directional tires, and cross-changing would require remounting/balancing the tires the opposite way on the wheels.

As long as you keep some extra wire smoke on hand, they're not terrible to work on.

Good Saturday morning friends! Have a great day!

Got my wife’s oil changed and tires rotated, went pretty smooth. I torqued the oil plug back to 375 ft lbs and the lug nuts to 16.5 ft lbs, just like the last place did it o_O

Pulled the VW in and rotated the tires first, that went good, then jacked it up to change the oil and managed to get some of it in the catch pan :anonymous:

    upload_2025-5-24_9-45-10.jpg

    What happened you ask

I pulled the plug and the oil was barely coming out so I got up and pulled the dipstick, which I did first on my wife’s car prior to pulling the plug. That opened it up to flow freely :anonymous:

^ that's exactly why I got the fumoto valve and drain tube! Every oil change went as well as that.

I started using refrigerator boxes as floor coverings. Works great until the oil runs off them!

What pattern did you do? :p

I'd be a lot further along with the oil change in my truck if my wife hadn't interrupted me to go with her to walk the dogs to Starbucks. It's been sitting for at least an hour with the drain plug out. Should be just about empty by now.

No doubt, last night I slept for 6 hours - more sleep than I have had since Tuesday, it was a rough one.

I'm on the back side of it now thankfully, Mrs Green had to go downstate for family alone - she said she missed having her chauffeur.

    .
    .

o_O Wait a sec... She didn't say she missed me... ;);)
