Mornin'. Turkey opens tomorrow. Weather has been wet with temps hovering just above freezing and more of the same on the way. I'm... excited? :ballchain:

Good Monday morning manly men :hattip:

We went to The Club yesterday and got a rotisserie chicken, I simmered the carcass for 2 hours last night.

I also got a new 10" cast iron Lodge pan at Ollie's.

    KIMG3031.jpg

The instructions clearly state to cook bacon to help further season the new pan - who am I to disagree with an OEM? :notsure:

    KIMG3032.jpg

After the bacon was some celery, onions and then chicken. Home made soup simmering now. :hungry:

It's amazing, I've had a brand new Bilstein 5100 strut on the B/S/T and the Free thread for months and Ive had maybe one nibble. I just said I'm not gonna ship it dont ask. Maybe I should offer to drive it to wherever to give it away.

Well fellers, in the sobering light of a non rainy day we have Yazoo, day two.

Naturally all the tires are flat & junk...
Using enough air for a whole weekend of off reading I was able to roll it off the trailer - the drive (front) tires went flat in under a minute.

Fortunately (?) I have "stuff" around...
So to rephrase a popular TW question, "how big a tire can you put on a stock Yazoo mower?"

    KIMG3042.jpg

The single rear (steer) tire hold air for at least 20 15 10 minutes, I can work with that.

This is an amazing machine, I've never seen so much of a "Rube Goldberg" vibe in a factory built piece of equipment.

Drive & PTO belts, this has a shaft driven deck, from my reading some models have a more garden tractor style mule drive belt setup.

The green belt drives the transmission, there are 2 behind it that drive the PTO jackshaft.

    KIMG3041.jpg

Close up of the belt tensioners, and the flat stock that holds the covers on the transmission. It is a 2 speed in both FWD & REV.

    KIMG3043.jpg

The deck lift is by a steel cable with saddle clamps, it changes directions with two steel pulleys.
    Note the welding.

    KIMG3040.jpg

Here is the PTO engagement lever.

    KIMG3036.jpg

The machine frame is made of tube, the deck too.

    KIMG3039.jpg

    Chain drive steering.

    KIMG3035.jpg

    Amazing machine, I'm smitten already.

This has a Wisconsin TJD twin cylinder, around 18 HP. I pulled the plugs - they are:
    1) the correct ones
    2) never fired
    3) had Never-Seize on the threads.

Sprayed some PB Blaster in the cylinders and turned it by hand - so far so good.

By the engine serial number it was built January - March 1981.

Do you have any idea where to find the seals to rebuild that HF aluminum jack in your picture?
