Well, it was a fun day...

The breaker for the well pump at the garage has tripped a few times randomly.
    Figured I better investigate.

This doesn't look so good, 20 years or so in a pretty miserable basement will do that to you.

And I think this might be the problem, just inside the pressure switch.

A trip to Slowes got a new pressure switch and also a heavy duty double pole switch rated 30 amps (the pump is 5 amps). Pressure switches cost more now, $38.
Slowes used to have Square D switches, now they have some generic... stuff.
We'll see how long it lasts.

The breaker is in the garage, the pressure switch is in the house about 150 feet away, there was no electric shut off in the house. I was there already it was easy to add the switch - the $18 super heavy duty premium switch I might mention.

My little corner of unhappiness for the afternoon/evening.

Job is all done except hooking it back up in the garage, another day.
