I’m seeing more and more places being up front with this charge.

Could be the Sub shop that offers pay with cash discounts or a trailer place adding 3% to a purchase with a card..

It all depends on how he dropped it….

Good luck to you and Mrs Creed as you enter this phase in your kids’ life!

Credit card companies can fall in a fire for all I care. Buncha vultures is what they are. I hate that to have good credit you have to have a long history of good payments.

I came to the conclusion years ago that CC companies are run my scummy people. I paid off all of mine and haven't had a credit card in over 15 years.:yay:

I see it a lot of places doing this as well and I understand why they do it after owning the store. A lot of people don't carry cash anymore and use a card, I get it, I do the same.

There is a store on my way to work that charges 3% for card, I don't stop there anymore cause they've been 40-50 cents higher on their gas for months. I can go 5 miles either way and pay with a card and get 5 cents off a gallon.

Also, last time I stopped there the owner wouldn't get off her phone to say welcome or hey, never said a word to me while ringing me up.

Good credit doesn't come down to having money, it boils down to discipline which can be hard when money is involved and barely getting by for some folks.

A good history of on time payments is the most important part of a good credit score. Despite not having any revolving credit accounts, I still have a good score because I always make my payments on time. That's going to be important to any creditor, even if they do manual underwriting.

Our credit score(s) took a little plunge when we bought the house 2 years ago, not a lot though.

Just looked at my fico score and it's back to 844
