It was a nice day ;) to do a bit of digging...

There were bees in the leaves.
The little :censored: only got me 3 times fortunately, in a bit of poetic justice I happened to have 3 partial cans of spray.

They won the battle but I won the war you might say.

    I could excavate this:

The pump was installed in 1992, I have a nasty hunch this is going to be expensive.

Lucky for me that happened in the pre-cellphone days, so there wasn't a video camera around every corner to capture the moment. Though it probably would have been entertain to watch if there had been.

Short story of what happened, I worked for an LTL outfit, I was hooking up a set of doubles in a small yard in Yakima, WA. There wasn't enough room to turn around in the yard so you had driver over a set of RR tracks and turn around then come back over the tracks. The trailer was going to be my back trailer so I hadn't raised the gear to full height while hostling it in the yard. I had cranked them up about 5", which was enough to cross the tracks the first time no problem. I turn around to back over the tracks in a slightly different spot by a couple of feet, my driver wheels fell into a pothole just as the foot of the landing gear reached the RR track. A very short battle ensued with the track rail and the landing gear lost. The gear leg was pulled back about 45° from where it should have been. I had to use a chain to improvise a way to bend the leg back to the vertical to set it back down. I couldn't get the handle to move to crank the gear all the way up for travel, so the dispatcher had me leave the trailer in Yakima for it to be repaired the next day. I did not get fired, but they probably put a strike in my file. At the time that company's policy was 3 strikes/accidents regardless of how big or small or of fault and you would get canned.

Supposedly it has 40,000#'s in it and the driver said he couldn't haul it so he found the most cracked pavement and set it there.
It sunk broke the valve and that had to be fixed. The said that the carrier was bringing in a crane to lift it up.
No back in my day you would have found concrete pad and put it there. Yes we have that too.

This is becoming the norm for concerts and festivals… protects the patrons from potential robberies.
In those cases I love it. I also don’t mind cash places having a cheap ATM (.99₵ is common) onsite.
I always get “that’s so freaking cool” statements for using my Apple Watch to pay for stuff.
    Cash is King though…

I think more than protecting patrons from robberies it protects the vendors from sticky handed cashiers. I really can't stand seeing the no cash signs, it seems un-American. Anytime I do business with a small business I'll usually ask half-heartedly if they still take cash and then most often pay them in cash. Because what they do with the cash they get is between them and the IRS and not my business. And if they happen to also own a coin laundrymat I say good for you :rofl::rofl:

Oh, small business? I will always offer cash option. Same goes for tips. Some restaurants actually charge back the fee as a deduction to the tip on waitstaff. I tip in cash and the rest is between them and the rest of the world.
