It does to me as well, the phone number and website on the letter are the same as the ones I found online though

My buddy got one from Delaware about a year ago, he's never been there

Speaking of scams, for all the home and property owners, go to your County Registry of Deeds, they should have a link there to be notified if your name comes up in any registry filing.

I did this years ago and when we sold the project home, I got an email from the Registry. It reminded me to do that with the new property in a different county.

This email was legit but I would have also been notified if someone tried to steal my property.

You might have heard services that can monitor this for you so there’s legitimacy to the concern but there’s no charge.

 

I've been seeing a lot of chatter about this lately and thank you for posting this.. I just went and signed up for free monitoring.

 

I had the same issue with NY/NJ toll authority a few years ago. Not just once, but three times. All while my car was sitting on blocks in my driveway. The first time it happened they took the toll from my Florida Sunpass account. WAPITA I eventually got Florida to refund the money back into my account after several frustrating conversations. While I was still arguing with NY to fix the first toll, it happened two more times on other bridges. I've never been to New Jersey, and I haven't been in New York since 2012, and I've never set foot on a bridge connecting the two states. The grainy ass pictures they sent me on the bill were horrible, but you could tell quite easily the offending vehicle was some kind of SUV. My car is a Ford Focus sedan. It took almost a year to clear the whole mess up.
