    i know, old, but i have a suggestion.

    many of the newer digital chargers have a 'restoration' mode on them that's well worth the effort. leave it on overnight, and the battery will get de-sulphured, which will bring it back to around 50-80% capacity.

    my cars battery went 7 years, and my trucks battery is starting to go, but i'm limping it for as long as my curiosity allows. every time i fails, i run the charger cycle on it, and i get another couple months out of it.
