Garage guy took one of our work vehicles because someone told him the check engine light was on. "Critters probably chewed on something" he says.

I'm thinking that might not be it...

Like I said, Yamaha is PROUD of their parts!
I did use eBay calipers on the Arctic cat. I think they were $60 each.

I'll have to slow the RPM down and switch up to sharper insert. It cut surprisingly well the other day:thumbsup: I was curious about that pin part with corrosion on it. It it threaded or anything? Sometimes thinking outside the box, metric drill bit shank.

I made this boring bar many years ago when I ran the lathe. I drilled it out and put sand in it and plugged it. It didn’t help with chatter at all.

I’m going to try and weld that pin and turn it down. If that doesn’t work I’ll make a new one.

Looks a little tricky welding but hopefully it won't distort terribly bad. At least you have the know how to start from scratch if need be. I might be more tempted to JB quick weld and polish it up. I think theres several home made boring bars throughout the shop here. I remember years ago Kennametal had a boring bar with something inside like washers or something to combat chatter. Patented as Kenertia something.

You have got to be kidding me :frusty:

The rebuild kit was this much. I'm not messing with it anymore, the parking brake fixture is a mess. Ordered :spending:

Good Move knowing what can be bought can save lots of time.

The thing with Snow we never know some winters can be good lots of snow plow repairs other years salt spreaders need some work.

It must be a Law of the Universe you have an easy 6 months to fix your plows the phone calls start 8 hours before it snows or an hour after it starts

Funny How the word Shortly has such a wide range of time.

When the Nurse says the Doctor will be with you shortly with my Doctor She can take 20 to 30 minutes to come in.

Yet when the Boss says I am leaving work Shortly I am not sure time can be measured in a small enough figure
