    I have a rework strike against me:anonymous:
That Jeep Radiator sprung a leak!
:annoyed: so when I put it in there, I noticed how cheesy thin the plastic was at the inlet, then the new hose I purchased for it seemed to large a diameter even after trimming it back. So....I tightened the (learning experience, worm drive clamps=garbage) hose clamp and it was still loose so I cinched it down snug. Well to shorten the story, that inlet cracked at the seam. :censored:
I'm anxious to measure the wall thickness there and compare to the next one. Then I'll purchase a all metal one for it. I may make a sleeve to slip inside that neck to beef it up. Just let daughter drive my car this week.
Also need to look at another hose at auto parts store and get better clamps ordered. I have a few spring style but not sure if correct size, just parts I hung onto. Order T-bolt clamps?

Constant tension clamps would do better.

I used the think a hose clamp was a hose clamp, I replaced every one on my old F-250 when servicing the cooling system and later noticed a leak, I snugged up the clamp. Then another and another... :annoyed:

I realized that the parts house clamps were made overseas. Hmm. I found "Breeze" brand US made hose clamps in the local True Value, no more leaks. And no more import hose clamps.

Hey now! I had a pile of Jeeps, V8 powered Wagoneers built by AMC. I never walked home but I did fix lots of rust. (that is how I taught myself to weld)

Yes, I do believe this was a cheap import clamp too. Was discussing this was a coworker today and he was saying there's a big difference.

Amazing deal. I just had our tool crib price some cheaper cord reels with a 3 way and they were plastic and $150.00 or more each.

I knew it was a quality piece but I was stunned when I looked up the price.

I won't wear it out, when I die the guy who buys my garage will enjoy it too.

First pics blue machine is what we make.
I’ve been here since 1992 and have done most all of it. Except fab.
We make about 90% in house, assemble, test and crate.
Some outside work and make parts to repair our equipment.
I have slid onto a small conversational mill, inspection, train and troubleshooting.
Not like turning wrench’s at lunch but.
The last 3 pics are seals for our parlec hyd vices on a production mill.
    My Saturday morning!

The machine in those first few pics is massive. What does it do, and what is it used to make?

It is a Hazelett strip casting machine.
we are a small family owned company and our casters are water cooled pretty unique.
You pour molten metals aluminum, copper or lead in one end and get a sheet out the other end.
It still has to go thru rolling mills to get a finish product but as long as you can feed it it’ll run no cool down times.
We have machines all over the world.
Some big time players in battery production pennys soda beer cans etc.

Who's got time to have a beer at the airport? I schedule my connections, so I'm usually waiting 30 min or less. The only times I have time to sit and eat a proper meal at an airport is when my flights get screwed up.
