I have seen people do this all my life sadly they have already bred keeping the stupid genes in the pool.

The sad part even though it is just the nature of the animal it is always the critters fault and they pay in most cases for people being stupid.

I'm used to the digital calipers we keep at the counter. And you're right, those are definitely not a Starrett or a Mitutoyo.

Mitutoyo aren't what they used to be. My first set purchased in 1993 are better quality and came with a push pin to take the gear off the rack if zero got off.

Just a anecdote from my career, a lot of folks say they wanna be the boss, til they are the boss and all the things they didn't think of come into play.

No idea what your particular "supervisor" role would entail, but we had a lot of machinists at my old plant that were great at their trade, but were god awful at basic leadership, managerial timekeeping, department budgeting, etc. All the non-trade stuff that comes with the job.

I enjoyed my role overseeing folks, but it did get old and kinda embarrassing having to remind a grown-ass man 2x my age about "showing up to work, let alone on time" repeatedly.

I don't really wish harm on folks, but the old bird had it coming.

"According to a news release from the National Park Service, the woman approached within 10 feet of a bison multiple times to take the bison’s photo. After she kept approaching, the animal gored her."

Looking for plane tickets from Fargo to either Atlanta or Columbus, GA.

My mom and sister called as I was just about to leave work that my dad died today. Just had his 80th birthday the end of December.

I wouldn't be opposed to driving the 1,500 miles but much like @tacotoe, I'm betting my wife will be against that.

There’s a guy who lives 20 minutes away from us who raises wild bison and sells the meat. I went to do some welding on his loading chute once, inside his pasture. He said “whatever you do, don’t go out of the chute” They are a lot bigger in person up close than they look. I haven’t been back
