In theory it is on a new pad.

Unless the order was specif the guys in the field did what was ordered .

Unless it said remove old pad and replace with all new.

I worked for a heating and air company for 2 years when I got out of high school, I was on the unit setting crew for a while. We never did anything like this, if it was a new unit it got a new pad that was level. We poured several as well with a rented small trailer with concrete in it.

I did consider that but the kids will be back in school.

One of us has to be the responsible parent and stay home. God help them that it's me. o_O

Carrier :puke: I hated working on Carrier equipment. Over complicated with doodads that did nothing but add to the unreliability.

We installed Trane, we made fun of Carrier. We always said you carrier around the house one day then carrier back to the truck a little later. This was in 1993-1994 when I worked there.

    That... is horrible.

Taking pride in your work really is diminishing, isn't it?

Isn't their tag line, "It's hard to stop a Trane."? Or something like that? I remember seeing a commercial for Trane, probably 10 years ago, where they had a heat pump submerged in an above ground pool...running.

Yes it is their tag line. Back then they were good units, I'm not sure about now.

Trane makes good stuff imo. They did seem to hide that 'one' screw that needed to come out to get to where I wanted to get. :annoyed:

I didn't know if they've done like everyone else and started making stuff with cheaper parts

Back then we rarely had trouble with them.

It all came down to just what the job order said.

Though I can say things are quite different in 2021 then in the eighties and even nineties.

Then it comes down to how fast the customer wants the unit up and running .If it was not up and running at days end major problems were involved

For the most not days while a pad cures some difference then between a heat pump and strictly AC unit.

In any case poor communication in the mix someplace.

I was thinking that too, but I don’t want lime green!

Took the words out of my mouth! :fistbump:

I was thinking of taking it to one of our other coasters who’s quicker but lower quality, but it’s not like I need it quick. Hell, I still haven’t gotten time to mount that winch/bracket!
Which reminds me, my oldest boy asked when we’re going to install that. I told him I was waiting on his help. (As good of an excuse as any :anonymous:)
