Cole will be ripping off end material starting early in the morning. He's been sore and hot this week after working on it Saturday  It's supposed to be high 70's tomorrow and Monday here instead of high 80's low 90's like it's been this week :D

New Friday fun day project - a department on campus is trying to import my CAD plans into some third part software and things don't look like they should so they want me to tear my drawings apart to make theirs work.

    1) That's not going to happen without saving it to a different file
    A) Reminder - we have 300+ plans that they'll end up needing saved
    2) Maybe you should have replaced your own CAD guy when he quit 2 years ago so he could fix this for you
    3) Pay for a license for AutoCAD LT and I'll show you how to fix it yourself

So much for getting some long overdue paperwork done...

Why do they need to port it into a 3rd party software if they already have your plans?

They're doing some network data jack tracking and need the plans to do it.

The other option would be to give me the information and have me enter it on a CAD plan which would be SO much worse for me so I'm mentally preparing myself for tearing my plans apart and saving them on their network drive because I can already see that's where this will be headed.

Why do they always do this crap on a Friday? Here I am starting to shut my brain down for a long weekend and BAM! :annoyed:

Customer finally came to get this with his checkbook in hand.

He drove this to pick it up. The frame is 8'6" long and 7'6" tall.

A good friend of mine ask if we'd build this for this guy. He wanted it in a hurry back in January. Then he put it off and my boss had to requote it because material went up. We built it, he called everyday when it was at powdercoat. They had it 20 days, that was out of our hands. It's been here done for 4 weeks and 5 days with numerous reminders sent by my boss. I ask my friend Monday to tell him it was ready and it's in our way. He did and he came by to show me his response. It said "They told me they'd have it done in 10-15 days, it took them 45”......that was it, nothing else. I told my boss after he cashed the check we aren’t doing anything else for him.

He wrote the check and said he has to find a trailer to get it

Certainly sounds like a headache you don't need if you can avoid it.

Newest message from the guy who wants me to redo all my plans:

"We should only need to do this once."

Yeah, for all 300 CAD plans.

And then any time we do a renovation.

    Which is pretty much constantly.

Uh...I'd be making up some sort of jargon-filled excuse on why I couldn't access my plans and then have it magically fix itself next Tuesday.
Shove that sucker outside and cash the check!

They're only looking for 3 buildings so far, so a total of about 15 plans.

They'll get one of them this afternoon. The others can wait. :D
