Funny how things planning wise go sometimes. Few years back they wanted me to cut out 30+ panels and let me know like 2 weeks before shutdown. I just had to flat out tell them call xyz tool and die, they have laser cutters can make those in a hour, me a month. Something about poor planning on your part constitutes an emergency for me? I've been tinkering with a old dirt bike 1979 DS 100 and found a used but not cracked head shipped for 30.00 on Ebay. Even had a brand new one available $$$

Identical to the one I had as a kid. I forget the one I'm tinkering with is a 1978. Minor difference is headlight is round and no DS on seat on the 1978. I love it!

Apparently behind. He said he couldn't get the old one out without taking the driveshaft out first.

I'm certainly the minority here but every single time I hear the word driveshaft, I can hear Dominic Monaghan singing "You all everybody" on Lost. o_O

I seen the crack in the head after I cleaned the carbon off the top of chamber. Right at the spark plug hole, I chanced it and put together and it fired up but no power. I put a new ring in and all the measurements were in spec. Worn but in spec. Have the replacement head but not put it on yet. Also a new gasket. Everything was cheaper on Ebay than dealer.

Speaking of heads, etc. Helped fix a Mule SxS over Christmas. Mom's boss bought it from a guy for cheap because "it doesn't run and IDK why"

"Oh, thats what that noise was"

I just got asked to draw up a floor plan to add an office and rework some cabinets. Where this potential office is slated to go, a person is currently sitting in an open cubicle. I have no idea what is supposed to happen to them - if they're going into this new office, being moved, being fired, no clue.

Before I just march in with a tape measure and start scribbling notes, I asked the requester how covert I needed to be.

    His answer was simply "fairly".

Part of me is glad I asked so I'm not the one spilling the beans to someone who doesn't know but the other part of me is annoyed at how secretive some of this crap is here.

 Me leaving shortly = as fast as I can grab my pack and run down the hallway to the exit.

Also, for me, "the other day" = 2 days to 18 months ago

That's basically what I'm going to have to do!

I was asked to do almost the same thing (new break room instead of new office, but still) when I'd only been here for 3 months and was still on probation and was told to not let anyone know so I waited until the two guys in the space we were going to invade were both out, got in, got my measurements and got out. Now that I've been here for 9 years and know these guys a lot better, given that same task now, I'd go in and tell them "you don't know anything, I was never here!" :p

This space I can't do that with quite so easily.

Probably wouldn't have been the end of the world to just stop in but if I can avoid springing things like that on people, I'll gladly avoid it!

Me, too. I'm terrible with dates.

    "Wasn't that two years ago?"
    "It was 1997..."
