    Our debarker ate a belt and did it's best Cheech and Chong imitation. This was after two minutes of letting the smoke clear just so I could get in there without inhaling too much.     I believe so, didn't have much time to look at the new ones due to the rush to install. First time this has happened since I've worked here so it was a flurry of activity. I'm about to go get part numbers to put in an order for more to replace them, so I'll update if I find out.

    Edit: Yes, we are using powerbands.

    No no, that is perfectly normal. Its an after market mod that's called a Brake pre-tensioner. Helps with prolonging the brake pads allowing another 25k before squeaking. It works along the principals of using dowsing rods to find water. There should be another similar on the opposite brake. Trust me, I'm a mekanix.
