There's also a lot to be said for riding your own bikes that you know very well and what their overall condition is.

What kind of bikes? I have a few, several different styles..

    My wife's is a Trek Navigator 2.0:

The bike hanging in front of hers is an old Schwinn Super Stock 1 that I should probably sell.

My old bike was passed down to my oldest son. It's a '99 GT Outpost. Not super accessible so a stock picture will have to do:

Very cool rides. LMK if you think about parting with the Schwinn, I will likely be interested. I'm an old BMXer and collect the stuff.

My 1986 General Fred Blood, even has original tires

I'm a Schwinn fan..my 1986 Predator Free Form EX when I first bought it and after I restored it

1983 Redline 600A..still deciding how to build this

I have a few others like this, a Makargi beach cruiser (promo item for Hubert's Lemonade), a Diamond Back mountain bike, and a 70's Kent with ape hangers

Those look great! I didn’t know people restored bicycles but I’ve never really thought about it either. I guess people restore everything, we’re just all into different things

    Good morning all, :pccoffee:
I'm going to head out th o the old pole shed and work on the Corvette some today. I have a feeling I'm going to need a bucket and mop for the floor as heavy rains tend to wash a little mud n water in.
The bushing and seal for wifes truck came in and I got drivers made, now also waiting on a axle that came apart on my son's Audi.

I find it so cool that some people are able to hang on to things for a long time like bicycles or maybe a vinyl record, whatever...
@ABA180 , a friend of my brothers still has his Mongoose BMX bike from late 70's or early 80's , he and my brother have been friends since before kindergarten.

Edit to add, he and my brother both had those bikes.

I’ve never been able to hang onto things for a long time. I do have a tractor I’ve had since I was about 16 and a few guns I’ve had a while. I find myself finding something better than what I have and buying it and selling the old.

Several years ago I was leaving for work in the morning and noticed my wife had put this old bike out to the street on garbage day. I saved it, and she didn't understand. I had taken this second picture years earlier. Now she understands and the first picture is where the bike sits now. My kids, I took the picture on a record high temp day in January. 20210626_070902.jpg 20210626_071051.jpg

Edit; this picture couldn't have been on that unseasonable warm January day, lol too many leaves on trees!
