My dad refused to fly anywhere so we always did road trips. I don't think I need to tell you that it's a long damn ways from Fargo to Disney World. Or the Grand Canyon.

 

Never flown anywhere with my parents, we drove everywhere too. They took me and my brother to Disney when I was 1 or 2, I don't remember it. My brother is 2 years older than me and I doubt he does either. Not sure why they took us so young, that would have been 1976-1977

My uncle had a shop in California I went out to work at, I was there for two years before he downsized and moved to Louisiana.

I moved to El Paso and four years later I still can’t find a job at a shop.
I did get a welder though, made a few little projects.

I know of several jobs available around here, all kinds of fields. I don't know what any of them pay though.

 

Okay, this has got to be just about the coolest tool I have seen in a LONG time!

 

The thing about New hires over the last few years so many of my former customers get really burned to the point they now offer low starting wages.

Which does tend to upset skilled labor at a time when your paid more to sit at home and hide.

Catch 22 situation for sure .

The helper we hired missed 5 days out of 15 before quitting because the work was to hard and the fact he could no longer hide the fact he could not read.

 

I’ll get back into a shop one day, my wife wants to move to Denver so it may be easier to find something up there.

100ish degrees out here in the shop, I can't keep ice in my water. Guy that works out here in the shop with me just came out with his 4th or 5th cup of coffee of the day. I don't see how he does it.

 

My dad said that the warmer he got, the cooler it felt.

I say that's a load of crap.

Plus, it was mainly because I am jealous of all ya'll getting vacations.

 

It's actually pretty easy. You pour the coffee in a suitable container, mug, paper cup, etc, place it on your bench, and take random sips as the mood strikes. Once it's empty, you refill and repeat.

97, outside, in the shade here.... I've been drinking coffee all day sitting outside trying un**** a fuel pump for our'67 AM Rambler...

(But I am switching to beer now!)
