I don't know. I sold this tractor to a guy about 3 years ago, it's a 1949 Farmall Cub. The guy is 81 years old. He said he was cultivating his garden and it went floppy. He ask me about it and I told him to pull the cover off and he brought me this. I think I'll just make him a new stick. It looks hard as a rock but it scratches with a file. It's in a bad place to weld being up against the sheet metal piece.

 

Is that mud or is the gear oil just that color brown??

It is gear oil and rust. Warranty ran out when it left my place but he's a great customer at our store. He is 81 but you wouldn't think it, he is a general contractor and out works most 20 year olds.

 

Someone put a huge dollop of braze on this.

Given where it broke, I wonder if they didn't accidentally anneal it when they did the brazing repair.

 

Possibly so. Luckily this just got easier. Found a used one I had

I know Ford can be great for new Parts But this old??

These are reproduced for $69.99 They made so many Farmall Cubs there are a lot of aftermarket parts available.

 

Always nice to have that option if needed.
