I want to swap my King coils from 700 to 650. I already have the 650 coils, just need to go into a shop with a good spring compressor that is open on the weekend. Preferably tomorrow Saturday.

I will remove the coilovers from my truck myself and I can take them into the shop to change the springs out.

Any shop in Orange County that can swap coils for me?

Didn’t know that you need to compress the spring to swap it. Thought you just need to lossen up the top with spanner, remove bottom piece and the spring slide through

Not on Tacoma shocks. They have too much preload for this method. Especially if he has 14” springs

    Thats correct.

I found a shop that can do it for me for $25 per coil, but they are not open on weekends.

    Bump!

That's not a bad price. If you were coming down to SD I would help you out but probably not worth the drive for you.

Thank you. Yeah all I need is a shop with a good spring compressor since they are 700 lb coils. Shoot I can do everything myself if I had the spring compressor.

Shoot a message to @Bot_Chu, he is in Corona and should be able to help out for tomorrow. He has a spring compressor setup in his garage.

I have rented spring compressors from O'Reilly/Autozone in the past. Its free, they charge you a deposit, but it is refunded when you bring it back. If you can take the coilovers off yourself this is just as easy. Just make sure you have most all of the preload off before you take the main shaft nut off, otherwise it will shoot apart across your garage when the nut threads off.

Haha, yeah its not that bad, but I feel you. Sometimes its better to let someone do it who has the tools and does it every day.

There is also this option where you take the nut off the shaft while still on the truck and then let the lower arm droop down slowly to let the spring extend.
