Shopify Use Them with Caution....Fraudulent Sports Store

This has been an interesting post to read through. I think OP is looking for some accountability and there's none to be found. It's also clear he's angry there's no way to know when you are dealing with a fraudulent vendor. Totally understandable and I agree if you're going to host online stores you should have a way to rate a seller like you can on Ebay and even Etsy. However you say when you use Ebay you check ratings and look at feedback and get an idea about the seller. Why not do some research on the Spotify seller outside of Spotify. Do a Google search. If it's a legitimate company you will find plenty of information including ratings and review if it's not you will probably find that out pretty quickly as well.

 

Very well agreed, however that can be a hard thing to find. Shopify is mainly a platform for small businesses. For example.. (And I urge you to test this), I run my storefront through shopify.

1. If you go to that URL there's no way of really telling if it's a shopify store.
2. If you google Tacoma Nation, you won't find a whole lot because I'm a small online only retail business.

But, as I was telling the OP via pm.. there's a few things you can look for. I have reviews on every page of my website for the trust factor (Plus I get all giddy when I get a good review. Lmao). As @orezona said to, PayPal is one of the first things to look for.

Really, I didn't even know that many vendors here used Shopify, until members were tagged.

My issue was outside TW with a store that I'm sure was in an asian country then closed up.
