    Hey guys,

I know I’m not your typical truck person but I’m looking for a nice truck as a daily. I’m a DIYer and hate trying to fit projects or materials in a car. I'm in Fresno, California.

I won’t be hauling anything crazy or off-roading. I know, boring lol

    I’m looking for
    SR5
    2.7L 4-Cyl. Automatic
    4x2
    White with cement gray
    Prefer color keyed bumper

I’ve received a couple prices that the dealer says is around invoice but from what research I’ve done it’s not. Also finding it tough to find a truck without dealer add ons. Any help with invoice pricing or what I should expect to get the truck for out the door? Thanks!

I was determined to get one without dealer add-ons too. They are out there, it just took looking at a few dealerships to find one. One thing to keep in mind, the SR5 has a chrome rear bumper.

Thanks! On the 17's it had the appearance package that included the color keyed bumper but when building the 18 it doesn't have that option. I'm not in a rush so I have that as an advantage but a couple have said that they come with the extras. This is what one said "Its very difficult to find any Tacoma without options. As for ordering the only thing we can do is adjust the vehicles build that are incoming, but usually is declined by the manufacturer."

So far the extras are the predator tube steps and all weather mats, which I actually like so I'm good with that if the price is right! But I'm not also crazy to think I can't order it without the bells and whistles that aren't even stock on the truck. lol

You don't say where you are from! My dealer has this one in Jefferson City Mo. I think it is the 1st 18 they got in.

Sorry, Fresno California. Which Cali doesn't seem to have a great rep on deals!

OP, you may be confusing the SR and SR5. The SR5 will always have a chrome rear bumper, the SR rear bumper is either black or body color.
If you google 2018 tacoma ebrocure, the brocure lists the specific features of each model.

Also, in the 3rd gen sticky threads there is a price list with invoice prices here ...
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-tacoma-model-package-option-costs-master-list.388345/
    This should help when negotiating.

Thanks for the link! I think that may be the case for the 2018 but for the 17’s it’s there. So that has me a bit confused on if it's even an option now

Yes, it is a little confusing. The color keyed overfenders are the fender flares over the wheels. The SR5 has a chrome rear bumper even if it has color keyed fender flares.

Here is how I would explain the non TRD models ...
The SR is Toyotas version of a work truck, it's got everything you need but it's pretty basic. The SR5 more of a personal truck, it has appearance and comfort features that make it a little 'nicer'. The Limited is the luxury version, it has leather seats, sunroof, etc.

So the SR is the base model, the Limited is the luxury model, and the SR5 is somewhere between the 2.

Well hell! lol I kept interpreting it as bumpers. I'm pretty set on the SR5 so I'll likely have to figure out a way to get rid of the fake chrome bumper. Thank you for the info, very helpful!

I'm good with a bit of a drive if it's a good deal! I've contacted a few and it's been pretty clear who's lazy or not interested in making a deal.

I paid 34,000 before TTL fees, for a TRD Off road 4x4, tech, tow and a few other things. I emailed every Toyota dealer in the state and nobody would beat their price or had a color I didn’t like so I ended up going with them. Made for a nice road trip.

I reached out to a dealer in Selma, it's not that far but they just started offering 20 year 200,000 mile warranty. I'm beyond curious to see their quote!
