Antennas are a specific length to optimize their reception for a particular frequency range (see wave band). That's why we all have antennas on our vehicles that are pretty much the same length, optimized for FM band reception. Moving to a shorter length just because it looks good can severely affect your radio reception.

    YMMV

i paid $9.00 for short flexible rubber one at Auto zone. Since i never listen to the radio i don't know how well it works. you just have to make sure you get the one that has adapters for different antenna attachments.

I just cut my stock antenna down about 6-8" and reatached the ball. Now I don't hit tree branches with it. Looks good imo

Unless they have an amp a short antenna will be fairly worthless.

in our 10 years in the antenna business, we have found that any antenna shorter than 13 inches is useless

My stock antenna serves as a guide as to when my garage door is up enough so I can pull in!

Just ordered up! I'm sick of my antenna hitting every concrete beam in the parking garage every day!
