You really need to decide for yourself, as you can see people with LB think they are best and same with SB people. Just decide what is important to you and go with it.

Longbed. image.jpgWith a shortbed I would have to leave the tailgate down even wit the front tire off.

Bed extender on short bed fixes that.

With long bed you don't have to purchase a bed extender.

Long bed costs $600 more than a SB. Short bed with bed extender is roughly $400 cheaper. SB has better turning radius and handles better off road. Short bed better for every day use around city because easier to maneuver and park

How about we agree to disagree. I'm sure we could counter all day.
Tuth. OP evaluate your needs. Reality vs. what you would like to do.

The only fact portion is the cost. I drove a lifted f350 4x4 extra cab long bed with a 460 and manual around the city of Seattle for 8 years the only hurdle for me was parking garages. Never once did worry about parking or turning. It's all personal preference and skills as a driver.

While you both make good points. I would have to go with the Long Bed. The bed extender does work but when you have smaller items in the bed of the truck you risk them sliding out the back. I prefer the long bed storage so I can have the tailgate closed.

Easier to park and maneuver a smaller vehicle. Fact. Improved off road capability in a shorter wheel base. Fact. Cheaper configuration to have a Short Bed with bed extender than it is to buy a long bed. Fact.

So it's easier to park and maneuver a limousine than it is to park and maneuver a prius. Ok

SB is easier to maneuver but... when all you do is drive LB you get used to it. The first month or so it feels tough to park vs the SB but once you learn the turning points, its all second nature.

You wont notice it unless you are switching from a LB to a SB all the time. My first truck was a 2008 Silverado Crew. Was a bitch to park but again after I drove it for a couple months I could park it just like it was a mini cooper (not really but you get the point)

We are only talking 1ft here. Honestly its not that big of a difference. So people in LB have to swing it just a tad wider.

Some prefer the SB some prefer the LB. I prefer the LB because I think it looks a lot better and gives me more closed storage.

I back into all of my parking spots, whether its a SB or LB, whether its a Tacoma or another truck. I back in all of my trucks.

like I said before personal preference and driving skills. That will be all I have to say. It's gonna be your truck OP get what you like. Remember opinions are like assholes, everybody has one, and some of them stink.

Access cab has the short frame and the long bed.
    Best of both worlds.
