I don't make too many threads here, but I thought I would throw this one out there lol!

So, the girlfriend and I made a short over night trip to Hungry Valley to meet up with some friends that were staying for 4 days or so. Her and I had our dual sports. My badass girlfriend rode her XT250 up there like a boss, aaaaand I hauled mine in the back of my taco.......with all the shit we needed.

We get there yesterday, in the last hour and a half of daylight, unload and I decide to put around in the camp area to get a feel for the terrain. I was not feeling it. Oh, by the way, very little dirt experience on 2 wheels.

So, after everyone has a good chuckle, we proceed to the nightly activities. The next day the girlfriend asks me how do you want your day to good. "Knowing full well how I'm having a hard time learning dirt and 2 wheels" so, i respond with " well some easy riding for a few hours, then some truck time after lunch". So we do the ride and lunch. I'm looking at the map and plotting a route. The route is mostly easy with very little intermediate, "according to the map". So I take off by myself while the girlfriend hangs out with our friends. I get to the trail head... I'll be damned if the trail has turned into a BLACK DIAMOND. At this point I'm like "Well fuck me" then "I'm here let's make it happen" famous last words.

I head up or down, hell, I started this adventure! It quickly becomes a path as wide as my taco. Internal thought: I have still yet to name her after almost 5 years. So this trail is narrow and windy. It is in a valley of hills, large hills. As I go through some of the wash areas it widens out some. So far rocky! It meanders up and down, back and forth, climbing high and high, to a point where it is the top but a low point between the peaks. As I start to crest over the trail turns to the left and I can't see shit until the rear axle get to the peak. It winds down between the two hills? Mountains? Some where in between. Lol. So far there had only been about a few hundred yards of trail that has not been rock. The whole trail was maybe 8-10 miles. Not sure. So back to the down ward side. It gets to a point where the rocks are thinning out, the trail is getting flatter, and not as twisty. I find a smaller hill climb area, so I decide to go up and take a picture. Nice view of the upper half of the park. From there I move to a power line road. Not fancy, not technical, but a nice easy trail with a view. I stoped a few times on the way to take a few pictures. I find some easy trails to make my way back to camp with out using the main road. I see now I need to upgrade the rear supension.20180428_140117.jpg 20180428_140557.jpg 20180428_140601.jpg 20180428_141358.jpg 20180428_141411.jpg 20180428_141801.jpg 20180428_142204.jpg image000000.jpg lmao!!!. Here are a few pics. Not a big or good picture guy lol. The one of my truck, all credit goes to my girlfriend for taking a great picture 20180428_140117.jpg 20180428_140557.jpg

Nice pics! You would’ve had much more fun on the bike than the truck by the looks of things.

I’m not judging but I don’t understand why people take their expensive $30K trucks off road and beat the hell out of them. IMHO that’s what quads and dirt bikes are for, maybe I’m getting old haha...

Your girlfriend’s XT is a great bike for the trails. What kind do you have?

She wanted to make a stop in, but this this year they were charging money just to walk in and not camp.so she decided not to. She normally goes.
Unless you happen to see Megan Griffin out side the event you would not get to meet her. They block off the whole area and no men what so ever are allowed in. The rangers help with that.
