My truck is stock, and my girlfriend, who stands at 5ft, doesn't complain about getting in. She actually asked me to take off the running boards, because she said they aren't low enough to really help and just get in the way. (I plan on keeping them on for now to help protect the paint from debris getting kicked up.)
To be fair, she has been getting in and out of full size trucks up until I bought this Tacoma.

Yea, I guess I forgot to mention she does have a lot of back pain/issues. Its really easy for her to tweak it and be down for the count for a full day

Lift or not, maybe something like the Predator steps, or something similar, would be something that would help.

Well, it happened tonight. We attended an event and my wife was wearing a pencil skirt. She had a tough time getting in the Tacoma. I asked “is it step time?” She said yes. She is on the shorter side, so I get it. With a small lift and tires, I can still just sit in the truck (no hopping or jumping), but not the wife.

I see some AMP Research steps in my near future.

Good luck on your upcoming surgery. Went through the exact thing back in 2010.

My wife is a touch under 5'2"
I have a 7 yo daughter who is like 4'5"
Lifted 4" with 0 degree sliders
Both make it in just fine. The kid even makes it with a full backpack on.

These posts are always strange, even with a lift and 285's the Tacoma is still lower than many stock full size trucks. Shit stock its close to some crossovers.

Mudguard about to touch the ground its so low yet install a power step

Maybe. I got blown up in 2012 and broke my l3 and 4, those are the disk in that area affected. So it’s been a issue for awhile, I did imaging again a couple weeks ago and another appointment rolling around in a few weeks so who knows.

I’m 5’4 and I lifted my truck 3” and could get in ok. Once I was pregnant I used that as an excuse to get sliders and had zero trouble getting into the truck. Just do it and use it as an excuse to get sliders.

Being 5 foot, I get the hood scoop obstacle . I loved the look of it so I had to have it. I just have to sit up as straight as I can. I’m sure my chiropractor appreciates this! :D

Already have the sliders - thats what makes it the hardest for her. They helped you when lifted?

My wife is 5'2. My truck is lifted 3" and I have sliders. She just grabs the "Oh Shit" handle and tugs herself up. Never heard her complain about it, and she loves my truck.

Our Tacoma is my wifes daily driver. 2.5" lift on 32's with no sliders. My wife is 5'0" and also manages to hoist a 4 month old in a car seat up in there with no issues.

Unless she is old or disabled I really don’t understand how she can’t get in and out of a stock Tacoma. My 4 and 5 year old climb in and out everyday without issues. There is a grab handle for her to use as well.
