For any of you that have the factory bed rail bike mount system, how do you lock up your bikes and to what?

Cable lock of choice thru your frame/rear wheel & loose front wheel to the rear bed floor D-ring. Unless perps have alot of time and the right T-10 to undo the D-ring its not going anywhere.

Ok, thats what I was thinking. I have a large cable for locking down construction equip, which should work fine. I just havent had to lock them in yet.
    Thanks!

Hey man here is what i've done for a bike rack. Right now i hold the bike in place with light ratchet straps but once i get a tail gate extender it will be perfect. Hope this helps.

I use the cargo bars and a set of Thule trays. Works great and gives me room to put stuff under the bars like firewood when I go camping.

I was just about to re-post you had 20mm axel.

honestly I'd get a hitch mount, unless you camp really light. I go with 2 others in my truck, 3 bikes on the hitch mount and the bed is always rammed full of gear food bbq etc etc.

cable ran through all frames and wheels locked to the saftey chain hole on the hitch.

Rocky Mounts are the best I have seen so far, I wanted something that locked because bikes are quickly stolen here in Germany.

I just picked up a Cannodale Rize 3 -- with a Lefty fork so my rack mount system doesn't work. Do the bikes basically hang over the tailgate? I would imagine that you would strap them down too. I am interested in anyone's experiences with the Dakar pad... Thanks

Extang Tonno III, Toyota Tow Package, Reese receiver lock, and hopefully lots more soon.
Hey I don't know if this helps but I just did the DIY bike mount where you take regular bike mounts and mount them to the bed track instead of spending the money on the ones from toyota. I had the fork mounts from my previous truck and used washers that fit perfects in the rail to secure it down. here are some pics. There is plenty of space in the bed because my two bikes one road bike and one mountain bike sit right on the side. Here on some pics!
