So I just acquired an old JC himmel 12,gauge model 20. The only problem is the pump won't move backwards but half an inch. Ive taken most of it apart to try and figure out what's going on. The firing pin container (no idea what the name is) seems to be getting stuck on something. Any ideas?

The guy that gave it to me did that and was told repairs would be more than then gun is worth. I'd like to fix it if I can.

Those are cool old guns but not worth a lot of magic beans. I can see a gunsmith per/hour rate going past it quick. I found this through the manual sticky, don't know if it will help but it couldn't hurt.

Good luck, I hope you can figure it out.

Thanks. I've been looking through that. When I get it figured out I'll post what I figure out.

Ive pulled it apart as far as I can. I suspect that there's a broken piece somewhere inaccessible that prevents it.from going back.

I just fixed it! Mostly... I discovered after forcing everything and banging up a fifty year old shotgun that probably sat in a truck box that the pin that holds the firing pin in place broke and wedged against the side. Now I need a replacement and I've got another working shotgun!
