I miss my old Civic - that thing would scream, rev limiter was at just a hair over 7K

 

Agree - I had a Civic for a bit then jumped into a 99 Integra for some years and luuvuvvvuvuved that little thing. Just something about those kind of cars back then.
(cue the sad kitten nostalgia tears again...)

 

I got a 93* Prelude with 99K on the clock stashed in my garage.
I'm gonna try n talk the owner [my ex] into selling it to me since he seems to have no interest in it anyways..
The dream will live on hopefully!

I mean you shift just before you hit the redline - right??

 

The trans is the least of your concerns , wait till the coolant all leaks out from the cross over pipe , your oil pours out of your timing case cover and you burn a valve on cyl 1 or 3 while your just minding your own business driving down the road , then while your on the phone calling AAA , you will notice that your paint is flaking off … other than that , you’ll love the truck , I love mine !

I actually like the previous gen Prelude the most
In my dreams I would score an 89' Prelude - Canary Yellow, black interior, 5spd - but that's not gonna happen..

But the 93 is sweet, has the triangle tail lights and the dash that goes all the way across - - it is still a sweet ride and attainable

 

Hoping for the best for you on this

Also, have dealerships stopped allowing test drives?

Just curious.

 

Mine has always shifted when I would expect it to. It revs high on long steep hills loaded down. If I want more pep, I select ECT. I believe they that all have sport shifting mode if you want to bump up and down as you wish. Never got the shifting gripe.

 

Maybe, just maybe the fluid is low. Go back to the dealer and get it checked or check it yourself.
