The big question is, how tall are you? I’m 6’2”, and would have loved to have the moonroof but physically couldn’t fit

I have the sunroof because I wanted heated leather and the tech package. I didn’t want the roof but only because the reduced headroom. With that, at 6’1” I have the front of my seat spaced up 1 1/2” and the back 1/2”. My head is close to the roof but I never notice. I love my Taco and now I’m glad I have the sunroof.

I’ve have owned a few Mini Coopers and the sunroofs on those will dump water into the car when the drain tube comes off. Only car with a factory sunroof I’ve ever heard of leaking and that is rare but still a very easy fix.

They’re great for spring and fall in Florida. The other 6 months they’re closed, along with the shade.

Never had a leak in my sun roof but it definitely has less head room than my 2018 off road. I’m not a sun roof fan in general to be honest.

At 6' 1" I do touch the headliner but I still like the sunroof to let out the heat and get nice airflow in the cab. Open the rear windows a bit and have the roof open on vent and you get great circulation.

Edited: because the original post was childish and brought nothing positive to the thread.

My truck is almost 4 years old and I’ve had zero issues with the sun roof.

Sunroof is awesome in my Tacoma with no leaks, my car is 27 years old and also has no sunroof leaks either.

I never understand why people always say moonroofs/sunroof leak. Yeah, if there's a hole there it can potentially leak. Yes, if the drain it clogged water may come in. But does that mean you don't buy a house with any windows in it because the caulk could fail and you may get some water in your house? If you want a sunroof. Get it, don't live in fear of something that may happen. Sorry, but living in fear of what if seems like a terrible way to live.

I don't know who started the Tacoma leaking sunroof scare, but it has survived a long time. It isn't going to leak.

Thanks for the responses. Guess it's been resolved. I only saw older threads mentioning it so I was hoping that was the case.

Why not add the heated seats? My buddy did it on his older titan. Gonna be honest, not sure how much work it would be, but it may be an option.

No sunroof was a must for me. I have had multiple cars with them and have not used a single one once

Have never had an OEM sunroof leak. Have had after market ones leak. I like the sunroof, but would never buy one unless it comes on the car from the factory.

    Mine has never leaked.
I never use it while driving in the summer months because I don't like the sun beating down on my head, but fall, winter, and spring, hell yeah, I love it.
I'll crack it during hot weather when parked - combined with the windows cracked and their vent shades it's a great way to keep hot air from building up inside the vehicle.

Trivial sidenote - at highway speeds tilting the sunroof up and cracking the rear window open just a few inches is the best way to get a fantastic fresh-air breeze inside the truck with hardly any noise.

I wanted a limited or Pro in a longbed, that was a no go. The loss of headroom was another reason. A sunroof is a hit or miss. They either are great or a leaky one or a broke motor. I have experienced both. My brothers 4runner leaked and now the motor. I just don't trust them, plus the flexing of a truck going off road is not a good thing for the roof, too much flexing, just my opinion.

personal preference. not sure how much a problem with leaks they are these days.. i have one in my honda and GMC and rarely use them to tell you the truth. but the extra light that comes in is kinda nice and the days i do actually open them is nice too but can live with out the extra noise.
