Op: I was doing what you are talking about starting in 2000. Mostly for small obscure platforms, and all out of my 2-man barracks room at FT Lewis. I turned enough profit to buy beer and keep a steady flow of good rubber under my AE86.

After I PCS'd to Japan I started first by slinging parts I would buy at Up Garage and the like, then moved into buying direct from Yahoo auctions, and finally taking junk and wrecked cars that were off to the crusher, paying the junking fees/towing for the owner so I could rip selected parts off.

I started with $200, and I made a shit ton doing it all.

Know your market and make sure you don't loose your shirt... only invest what you are willing to loose.

Well, yes, as per insurance company's standards, the truck is certainly "totaled".
But what do you mean 'decided not to pay you'...?

Is it because you were found at fault?

I only had liability with Farmer's and it was the other driver's fault. When I went after his insurance (Allstate), their driver started to lie and said it was my fault. Allstate pretend to believe him and won't reimburse me.
He had to pay a ticket and his insurance tried to come after my insurance, claiming it was my fault, but lost. Still, if I want them to pay I have to go to court against Allstate which no lawyer is interested in doing for such a small amount and no medical bills...
