Really have no choice here but to run E10 fuels. For whats is worth they do run well. Seems toyota has the truck well tuned already for ethanol blended gasolines.

Dent corn grown for ethanol is not the same as the corn we buy in the store. It needs to be heavily processed before human consumption. Dent Corn is also Federally Subsidized.

Have anything to back that claim up? Highly doubt Toyota didn't do any testing on 87.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
How the hell do you get to run 85 at 2,000 RPM? Anytime I go over 72 my truck drops to 4th gear at the threat of mild incline, meaning I'm pushing 3500 on the highway at 72.

I go fill all my Tacoma and all my cars up with premium only. It is only a couple bucks more and since I have a BMW and a Lexus that are premium only, I don’t want to by mistake pump cheap fuel in the a premium only.

Sometimes like an idiot I have pumped premium in cheap rental cars because I am used to hitting that premium button at the gas station. lol

I'm sure Toyota tests with a variety for compatibility's sake.
The '16 Tacoma was one of the first to adopt TIER 3 standards, which consist of testing with 87E10 vs 91E0 idolene(TIER 2). Last I looked, EPA keeps/kept pushing back the industry compliance deadline.

Well, I guess we are buying a majority of corn from Brazil in that case (no pun). Either way, I don't see exactly how the oil industry directly benefits from this. I am legitimately curious if anyone has any experience or knowledge on this topic.
If you are talking about ethanol-free gas, maybe. You need to also consider the fact that the reduction in energy density can be negated by increasing fuel consumption, which is why fuel economy suffers slightly. I don't think the injectors are the bottleneck on these engines when it comes between E0 and E10. But perhaps. This is more of an issue on older engines that lack the technology to read or compensate the stoich ratios. A 1-3% increase in performance is possible. More likely 0.1-2.0% based on similar studies.
Another great point that will influence the beliefs of others. My commute is 120 miles round trip. Those couple of dollars would equate to over $1,300 per year. Someone with a similar work schedule that commutes only 20 miles would only realize a difference of $200ish over 87. I wonder if stations would sell less if we removed the "Regular", "Super", and "Premium" names on the pumps.
Correct. Toyota did test the engine with 87. However, I believe most manufacturers test with high octane (sometimes 100) when coming up with horsepower ratings, etc. In fact, Tesla was recently called out for using "glue" on their test track when coming up with their 0-60 times.

I think some of us are taking more offense to the potential waste of money. Sure, it could make some difference, but that doesn't necessarily justify the cost. I think the argument has shifted to cost/benefit rather than what OP can put in his tank.

Cost is less than the aromatics they replace.

It really won't have much effect on the oil industry (I work in it) all it will do is shift the consumption in the equation.

No one has said that 89 or 91 is required. The manual says Toyota recommends 87 or higher which is very different that what you are saying the manual says.

I don't think that's a Tacoma... look at the fender flare. FJ? So probably a supercharged 4.0L FJ...

    I wish
You have a keen eye for details ( it's an FJ).

I've never put anything but regular unleaded in it, I never even noticed the sticker until a couple of weeks ago.

87 octane is fine. I like to dump a bottle of fuel injector cleaner every now and then too.
