Doesnt look too bad yet, did you try chipping away at it to find bare metal? Paint and fluid film the frame. Worse comes to worse you get a new frame from toyota. Looks very clean compared to the MA and NH frames im seeing at my dealership. Also it looks like that because that thing collects road grime like a bowl. Every month or so i can clean 3 inches of muck out of that perch.

I hate to say it, but the (Ziebart undercoated) frame on my 2014 looks worse than that. I would definitely clean them up, treat them, then paint and undercoat them, but that's just me and I live in the road salt capital of the world.

Use a roloc sander pad either by air tool or by hand and scuff most of that frame cancer off, then paint the bare metal and fluid film it. Its all you can do really

Just keep in mind that there's a time limit on that. I also have an 05, and I only have until April of this year to get mine replaced.

Looks like you have had a frame replaced in that.
If that’s the worst no real worries.
Of course any rust corrosion is something to address.
Those pockets hold crap big time clean them up paint/coat/rust reformer use something to slow it down!
Nice truck by the way congrats.

Thats why i said he should do some investigating on those spots now incase it is bad but its doubtful. If you took this to the dealer they wouldnt even spray it with the undercoating stuff.

Yea that's what i was thinking, we dropped the tranny about 3 weeks ago and didn't notice anything, i was just washing it yesterday and cleared a bunch of crap out of there when i noticed it... There is really only sand on our roads and if there is salt its liquid :/

When did you buy this how many miles?
Find it hard to believe this has not been replaced.
Look towards the rear of your front drivers tire for a white sticker on the frame.
If that’s the original frame it’s in amazing shape!!!!!

    Salt just sucks!!
    But that’s 13 yrs and 130k.
Sounds like your hands on with your rig and have a grasp of things.
My 08 with lots of hrs spent maintaining is not as nice as yours. I am probably wrong but if that’s the condition your stock is in I’m jealous and amazed.

I wish they would have designed that spot different. Mine collects all kinds of road cinders a salt in that same dish.

    What’s your frame look like?
Do you get under your truck and maintain it? If you want them to spray their crc shit then do it soon. The crc just gains a few yrs.
Mine was done and actually made it worse in spots. I had been maintaining it myself knowing it was an issue.
Yours is a 2010 so you would have til 2022. Get under it and see what you got don’t trust your dealer.
