Frame is good. I did fluid film in November, so it looks clean. I just thought April was the cut off for everyone..

Pretty sure it’s 12 yrs from in service.
Maybe a purchase by date also.

I’d scrape all the flakey frame coat off, wire wheel the loose rust, make sure everything is dry as hell and POR15 it. Maybe add a small drain hole to that spot too. Once the POR15 has fully cured I’d hit that spot with something like fluid film, Amsol HDMP, or something else like that.

I always find gravel and crap in that spot, probably roughs up the frame enough over time to allow water penetration.

I have until may 19(?) for my 05. 12 years from purchase date or 1 year from the settlement date.

I bought my truck back in 2012 and the frame was in good shape, I soaked it in fluid film for the last 5 years and now I qualify for a new frame. I should have never even wasted my time and money with the fluid film. Lesson learned.

I feel your pain I’ve done mine longer and I don’t believe it will rot in time for me. So I’ll be up the creek a couple yrs too late.

My father in law treats his like crap. Got a new frame!
    Still treats it like crap.

I thought my frame was good until I went out and found some holes on my own.
Take a hammer and screwdriver and look around. You might be surprised on what you find.

This is why I don’t treat mine. If it is going to rot, I’d rather not extend the amount of time it takes and have Toyota replace the frame. Having said that, mine is not in bad condition at all. Has some rust in spots, but no where near even looking bad.

Hey Bud I stand corrected upon this after winter hose down before seeing what I got.
I found a hole in the front crossmember by the tie down drivers side.
