I'm really trying to find ANYTHING similar around anywhere in the country, as others have suggested, that is anywhere close to this 'deal.' I'm having zero luck and am almost all in on it. I haven't paid any money yet but I did verbally commit. There's time to back out but I'm pretty sure I'm in. I think I'll pay the money either tomorrow or Monday if you guys don't convince me otherwise. LOL

Just because we live in a clown world where used cars now cost more than new cars doesn’t mean that a well priced truck that was beaten to shit as a corporate vehicle with 250,000 miles on it is a great idea.

Fair enough, also doesn't mean it's not a bad idea. Time will prove it out one way or the other though. I'll be sure to report back here if I'm wrong and give you all the pleasure of telling me you told me so.

Well we all tried to tell you no… you’re insisting.
No way for us to tell what’s going on with said vehicle etc and clearly finding comps of a truck that went to the moon in a few years is tough.

Here's an important question: were you looking for a truck before this offer came up? Did you even want / need a truck?

Even if something is a good deal (which this really isn't), you have to ask yourself if it's a good deal for you.

At minimum, I think this is a great learning opportunity for OP. For better or worse. Hopefully better.

Yes, I wasn't looking that hard, but was looking. Recently divorced and ex took our GMC Yukon that we used to tow our raft with. I have an 24 foot RV, which I'll likely sell now, that I've been using to tow our trailer for hauling firewood, and some late season rafting but it's awkward at best. This solves that need at a price i can afford. I spoke to another Taco owner today and one that is also a former mechanic, got the go ahead again. I am going to do it.

@maxmk8 I'm being told there are better deals on trucks that have gone much less than that though. I can't find anything really under $20k with any level of miles. Sure, comps are hard on this amount of miles. Love the moon comparison.

i wish you the best. even though i advised against it, i hope it works out. please keep us updated. it'll be nice to know how the truck is performing especially one that has seen many drivers, but the scheduled maintenance has been done.

I think you’re ok. You know the history and it’s all highway miles . I’m sure you did check for oil /coolant leaks right? Otherwise you’re set.

One would think an employer would at least get a trade value and let a good employee have it for that, or maybe $500 over,,, as not to turn a profit on it's employees. I get the private market would pay more and they would passing up on that difference.

I’d go for it . Long as the front timing cover is dry and no engines codes related to burnt valves

Just curious. What leads to burnt valves on the 2GR-FKS? Luck of the draw? Manufacturing defect? Defective valve guides? Incorrect air fuel ratios? Apparently cylinder #1 is most impacted? Intake or exhaust?

Please make short video of walk around of your car. Or maybe pictures. I am sure we all want to see it after all this discussion. Show us your Taco!
