No. The Toyota pickup, and the 1st gen Tacoma. Thats what built the rep. I have a 1st gen.

    Also

I have a 3rd gen that doesn’t have a Camry engine...in fact, I have a legacy config. You must be new? Hella relaxed bro.

If anything the Toyota "Pickup" made the reputation and the 1st gen made it stick, at least until the frame issues started. I can see where the 2nd gen guys would like to think differently though.

I bought a 16, with low miles after looking and being very patient. Not had any problems outside of etching on mirrors and windows, which made me wonder about the paint. I had it detailed even though it looked great and they got most of the etching out. Previously I had a 2nd gen., what a difference. I did the carfax thing but still wonder. Carfax isn’t always what they say it is.
Still wonder though. Low miles, etching?

Yes and also the power output. With a manual you can get all outta the gears you can get to your comfort.

Having only owned a 3rd gen, im curious to the need to regear and such. I am well aware of the lack of low end power and transmission searching that people are complaining about, including me(low end power), but both issues were soved with ovtune. Some of you may balk at the $700 price tag but i say nothing is made perfect, and its nothing compared to being able to unleash the beast. Still i am curious about this 4.0. Also, although they advertise 18/22 mpgs, in reality its more like 16/20 real life. Whats the mpgs for 4.0? Was parked beside a 2nd gen the other day and couldnt help to think how dated it looked and realized my 3rd gen will probably look dated in 5-10 years. I still think it has the best looking front end of the trucks out there

I read somewhere about maybe they changed the top gears on the 2020 to fix AT plus software...I agree any model 1st year is never that good...in my picture is my current 2014 forester it was all new first year, regret buying it with issues I had up to 55K, 67K now and everything fine, but I do not want it in 100K plus with CVT and turbo
    Taco baby!

They only made software changes for 2020, no drivetrain modifications
