In Utah they use almost exclusively salt on the roads. We have an unlimited supply of salt from the salt flats and a smelly lake. UDOT sprays a brine solution the day before a predicted storm comes to get a jump on the ice buildup. I wish we used sand but the salt is very effective. I run my truck through the car wash with undercarriage blast almost every other day in the winter and have little to no rust.

As for the cost, I think that's high $$$ for the mileage. Maybe if there are meticulous maintenance records showing all preventive maintenance done.

I would say run away as fast as possible.
Keep looking and get this one out of your head.
I have a friend who has a near mint original owner Florida 06 SR5 4X4 truck with 78K miles and wonders if he can get 12.5k? I got first dibs on this one when he sells but there are others out there. Be patient if possible.
Unless you can get a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty from this used car stealer.
Doubt you can talk them into a reasonable deal.

Like many gave already said. Make sure the frame is inspected. Inside and out of the frame rails. Have a trusted mechanic give the rest of the truck a thorough inspection as well. The kind of miles is more important that just the miles themselves. I'd rather have a well maintained higher mileage vehicle over a poorly maintained low mileage vehicle.

    Carfax as well.

It doesn't hurt to keep looking if your gut doesn't feel right about it. You'll be able to find lower mileage trucks out there.

Good luck and keep us posted!!!

Good to know! Another reason for OP to avoid this one. Shame Toyota is so willing to send owners up a creek like that with the rust issue.

Dealership probably bought the truck for around 4k. Most reputable dealers won't sell a used vehicle on their lot with that many miles. Buyer beware.
