The Tacoma is 5" wider than cx 30 which the misses i and my 85 lb dog fit in fine. The Tacoma leg room is 1.7" more than my Ram 1500.

I have a 2011 AC 2.7 4WD...never had an issue. Take long road trips (1-2k miles) no issue. 5spd manual. Love it!

I am 6’4” and fit in a Tacoma very comfortable. My son’s Tacoma has the 2.7L and it drives very nice. Compared to almost every vehicles that I have owned over the past 25 years, both the 2.7L and 3.5L Tacomas are the slowest by a rather significant margin. The 3.5L is just a “little” faster than the 2.7L, but they are both underpowered to nearly every V8 full size truck or SUV. I believe you will be happy with a new Tacoma.

This. The 3.5 is slow. So is the older 4.0. I went from a 5th Gen 4Runner to a 2.7L.

    Toyota trucks are slugs.

My dad just got one. It's been a great truck so far and the 2.7 is a bulletproof little engine. Frame rust shouldn't be an issue if you take care of it.

If i get it i sure will. Got a deposit on one but after driving a new 2 wheel drive Thursday im nit 100% im gonna get it. I like the look and feel of it when i drove it but it had a very noticable shimmy/vibration between 50 and 60.

    That’s not normal. I have a 2.7 4x4 and have no vibrations.

Are you sure it's brand new & unmodified? My month old '22 2 wheel drive 4 cyl has no vibrations at highway speeds. Neither did a '22 I rented before buying mine.

I'm 6'2 and I'm fine in my Tacoma. I'm all legs, so maybe it's not as big of an issue since my torso is tiny

If you really like the CX-30 there are spacer lifts available for around $200 that will get you 40mm/1.6" of lift.

I have not as I don't have a CX-30 (I have a Mazdaspeed3 and experience with the Mazda6 and CX-5) but the lift seems pretty straightforward. There are lots of lifts like these for Subaru Crosstreks and Outbacks. It doesn't look like there is a ton of aftermarket support for the CX-30 but I would think that a spacer lift of that height might not affect the ride too much.

I saw this thread and while I don't 100% agree with his "spacer lifts are better for small lifts" statement he seems happy with it:
    https://www.cx30talk.com/threads/lift-kit-and-tires-off-road-use.2693/

Since you said the main issue is getting into and out of the car try and jack up your CX-30 1.5" (or drive over some 2x lumber) and see how that feels getting in/out?

Had my 2010 RC 2.7 2WD for 10 years and zero complaints.

Frame was replaced last year under warranty, I've been getting it done with Woolwax each fall season since (live in Massachusetts)

I'm 6'5" and shoehorn my tall fat ass into a Reg Cab, my 90lbs GSD rides shotgun. Sometimes people laugh when we both unfold out of it. I recently took a 12hr drive from Ca to Ut. It's about the 8hr mark that I start to hate it lol. So glad it's not my daily.
