I’ve had the following 3rd gen trucks:
    2018 TRD Sport (manual)
    2019 Pro (manual)
    2021 Pro (auto)

I was worried getting my 2021 in an auto, but I gotta say.. I like it more than my past two manuals. If you do get a manual plan on buying the OV Tune because without it it is not pleasant to drive.

I have to say the manual Tacoma is appealing. Then I was reminded of the accumulator delete mod. I'm not sure how it is in the Tacoma with out the accumulator delete mod, but I didn't like how the clutch felt in other manual vehicles that did not have the accumulator delete.

Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) Cat shields by CaliRaised. Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. The automatic will tow what you described easily. Everything you're asking is subjective. No one can answer the question of how you'll feel about the truck.

I ordered my 2018 TRD Sport M/T straight from the factory in 2017. I'd be surprised if you ask for a specific vehicle and a dealer wouldn't order a build.

I am a manual transmission enthusiast but it strikes me that M/T people behave like vegans when it comes to our transmissions. Vegans love telling everyone they are vegan and why everyone should "go vegan" Drive what you like.

Drove manuals until I ended up in Chicago burbs. Clutch leg got twice the size of the accelerator leg..began to interfere with my jogging...kept running in circles.
