Never heard of getting some back. I promise you, you will use it before 2016. The warranty cost you around $24 a month. Big deal. It was worth it. Keep track of stuff they write off for warranty work and I would bet you a beer it turns out to be a good investment.

something does not sound right about that... i'd love it if that could be true - but Toyota would lose money in the warranty business if it was. i

Others have had different experiences, but I now have to pay $1500 out of pocket to repair my timing chain cover oil leak, and $90 for a clock spring, and around $500 for a new leaf pack, and just had to replace my power steering pump.

I believe you can get a refund (partial or full). Others will chime in and provide good info here...

I bought the 7 year 100,000 platinum from my dealer after I found the lowest price here on TW. They matched it just by bringing them the quote. So I saved about 50% by not paying the price my dealer quoted me when I bought the truck. Go figure, thanks TW!!!

I guarantee you will use it atleast once when your compass/temp guage quits working. With the warranty you wont have to fix it yourself!

On the refund option, be careful. I was in the car biz for about 10 years. You can take your vehicle in for service, be provided a service loaner for which the dealership bills the warranty as a rental car and gets some revenue from his service fleet, and you've used it without knowing.
Dealers that are offering full refund are banking on your not knowing this or on your trading within the average trade cycle of 37 months and around 35K miles and forgetting that you get a refund.
    My $.02...

I would encourage everyone here to fix that problem them self imo. It's one of the smallest fixes you can do and one of the most important.

yes, it happens. you're playing the odds. sadly, since you bought a toyota, you didn't expect to have to fix those things. if toyota quality is that bad now, maybe my next car will something other than a toyota...
